Homemade Immunity Shot Recipe

Your immune system works hard every day to protect your body, and while no single food or drink can prevent illness, a balanced diet rich in vitamins and antioxidants can help support your body’s natural defences. One easy way to include more immune-supporting ingredients in your routine is with a homemade immunity shot.

Packed with fresh ginger, turmeric, lemon and honey, this quick recipe is full of flavour and can be prepared in batches for the week ahead.

Why these ingredients?

Each ingredient offers its own nutritional benefits:

  • Ginger contains natural compounds that may help support the body’s response to inflammation and aid digestion.
  • Turmeric contains curcumin, a powerful antioxidant. Pairing it with black pepper helps improve curcumin absorption.
  • Lemon is a great source of vitamin C, an important nutrient that supports normal immune function.
  • Honey adds natural sweetness while helping to soothe the throat.
  • Orange provides additional vitamin C and natural sweetness.

Remember, immunity shots are not a replacement for a healthy lifestyle. Eating a varied diet, exercising regularly, getting enough sleep and managing stress all play an important role in supporting your immune system.

Homemade Immunity Shot Recipe

Ingredients

  • 1 cup fresh orange juice (about 2 oranges)
  • Juice of 2 lemons
  • 50g fresh ginger, peeled
  • 30g fresh turmeric (or 2 teaspoons ground turmeric)
  • 1 tablespoon honey
  • A pinch of black pepper
  • ¼ cup water (optional, for blending)

Method

  1. Roughly chop the ginger and turmeric.
  2. Add all the ingredients to a blender.
  3. Blend until smooth.
  4. Strain through a fine sieve or cheesecloth if you prefer a smoother consistency.
  5. Pour into a clean glass bottle or small jars and refrigerate.

The mixture will stay fresh in the fridge for up to five days. Shake well before serving, as the ingredients naturally settle.

How much should you drink?

A small 30–60ml shot is enough to enjoy the flavour and nutritional benefits. While these ingredients are nutritious, more isn’t always better, so moderation is key.

If you have certain medical conditions, are pregnant, or take blood-thinning medication, speak to your healthcare provider before regularly consuming large amounts of ginger or turmeric.

Make wellness part of your routine

Building healthy habits doesn’t have to be complicated. Preparing a batch of homemade immunity shots at the start of the week is a simple way to include more fresh ingredients in your diet.

Combined with balanced meals, regular physical activity, quality sleep and good hydration, small daily choices like these can contribute to your overall health and wellbeing.

Because when it comes to supporting your immune system, consistency is far more powerful than any quick fix.
